Job Description

The Job...

  • Manage the organization's database technology and associated schema to allow secure, efficient, and effective access to the organization's structured data
  • Review and revise practices and processes to enhance the efficiency of access for users
  • Plan and implement regular system upgrades to enhance service continuity and user experience
  • Provide support to team members to minimize user/system downtime
  • Work directly with other DBAs to triage and troubleshoot escalated issues
  • Work directly with application owners and support personnel to maintain service-level agreements
  • Participate in capacity planning for storage, servers, and network components as needed to ensure performance and service level agreements
  • Stay current with database technology advances to enable production support and incident resolution
  • Provide administrative and maintenance to support Company Databases
  • Performing monitoring, backups, error checks, and managing replication
  • Plan and install patches
  • Follow and contribute to the processes of compliance with computer security standards.
  • Excellent teamwork skills

You...

  • 3+ years experience as a Database Administrator
  • Strong knowledge in Oracle and/or PostgreSQL
  • 2+ year Intermediate Cloud  technologies experience (such as AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • 1+ year Intermediate Linux Administration experience (Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat, etc)
  • 2+ years of intermediate experience in Scripting (SHELL, BASH, etc.)
  • Proven experience in SQL over DDL, DML, and DCL
  • Agile Methodologies experience
  • Strong communication skills in both, English and Spanish (English Level B2+ or above)
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • On-call availability is a must

Nice to Have…

  • Proven experience in MSSQL is highly desired
  • Good understanding of non-relational databases
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) including RDS, EC2, S3, Cloudwatch
  • Experience with database security concepts/cloud security best practices
