Job Description

As a Director of Software Engineering for Marketing domain, you are product-minded, customer-focused, and a strong delivery leader who can help take ideas from prototype to launch. You have hands-on experience working with different marketing tools, built personalized merchandising modules, and a scalable landing page / merchandising solution that resulted in increased engagement and performance. You have what it takes to build and lead a strong engineering team, in addition to driving engineering standards. By now, you would have built and supported critical components of products/platforms at scale in your previous roles as engineer and/or architect. You will work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment that crosses multiple technology domains, business teams, and offices. 
  • Lead a team of software and quality engineers in delivering compelling new features that are high quality and scalable 
  • Work closely with product, user experience, and data to understand member problems and collaborate on roadmap, prioritization, and technical solutions 
  • Work closely with engineers to architect, design, and deliver features by providing technical depth on a full-stack product development team in a .Net and Azure environment 
  • Unleash the velocity of our engineers and systems with processes and implementations that allow us to ship quicker, learn sooner, and isolate impacts 
  • Drive improvements in quality, durability, and technical debt reduction by working with Product Owners, Engineering Managers, and other important partners 
  • Recruit, develop, and coach an engineering team, both technical leads and individual contributors 
  • Establish and help us meet backend and system SLOs to protect us through future growth 
  • Safeguard the privacy, security, and trust of our members’ sensitive data throughout our implementations, in partnership with our Risk and Security teams 

Job Requirements

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in which you’ve designed and delivered scalable and fault-tolerant technical solutions 

  • 3+ years of experience leading and mentoring high-performing engineering teams 

  • Significant experience in leading technical designs, mentoring engineers, and helping to drive engineering maturity 

  • Experience with Tealium, Google Analytics, Marketo, and CMS 

  • Solid experience in full stack development and architectural experience using .NET technologies and tools such as C#, .NET Core, and .NET Framework 

  • Hands-on experience with building high-performance applications in a hybrid environment 

  • Experience in building mobile & desktop web applications, RESTful APIs, microservices  

  • Experience in single page and MVC applications  

  • Some familiarity with domain-based architecture, DDD, and micro frontends 

  • Experience with Service Fabric, Azure Cloud 

  • Agile software delivery experience (iterative planning and delivery)  

  • Experience with Jira, TFS, ADO, or other agile tools  

  • Excellent communication skills, builds strong working relationships, and high degree of team
