Job Description

Our client is looking for a full time, permanent Voice (Metaswitch)Administrator.  
 
Duties & Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Director of Network Operations, the duties and responsibilities of the Metaswitch Administrator include:
  • Telephony Design and implementation.
  • Capacity Management.
  • Day to day troubleshooting of faults with the voice network
  • Management of Telephony systems
 
Desired Skills & Experience - Minimum Qualifications
Possesses a Bachelor Degree or College Diploma in a related field
  • Candidate must have 3 to 5 years of experience as a MetaSwitch Administrator
  • Experience with TDM systems
  • Knowledge of telephony routing and translations
  • Unix/Linux knowledge
  • Networking skills (TCP/IP, SNMP, SSH, VLAN, DHCP, PPPOE)
  • Troubleshooting (WireShark etc)
  • Business class telephony (Business groups, PBX’s and Centrex systems)
  • In-depth understanding SIP/RTP/ISDN/SS7/MGCP/T.38

Core Competencies
  • Must have a good understanding in ATA’s and IP Telephones
  • Hosted PBX Experience
  • Routing and Translations
  • Session Border Controller Experience
  • Valid driver's license and passport; some travel required
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities
  • Dynamic, energetic, motivated, positive outlook
